Atlanta QB Matt Ryan has taken charge this offseason and has organized well over 20 players to participate in seven on seven passing drills while Curtis Loftin called the defenses but there was no discounting the urgency felt by both sides. "Our sense of timing is that we're going to be playing at the beginning of September,” Ryan said recently. “ As players we need to prepare ourselves to get ready to go." WR Roddy White seemingly agreed as he took no questions from the group of reporters gathered. "No interviews, baby. I came out here to work. The first day of training camp, y'all got me."
In the offseason, the team used their first round, sixth overall selection on Alabama WR Julio Jones and Ryan is excited at the prospect of another tall, fast and athletic receiver. "Julio is doing a great job. He's a complement not only to Roddy, but to Harry Douglas, Mike Jenkins and Tony Gonzalez in the passing game and Michael Turner in the running game. He's going to fit in well with our group of guys. Everybody is excited about that."
