The Bears enter “07 as NFC winners in ’06. And things look good for season ticket holders to Soldier Field. If the offensive continues to be strengthened with the likes of Benson, Olsen, and Hester, and the playmaking continues to improve, there won’t be a team that can touch The Bears in the north – and they continue to remain a threat in spite of losing significant players. Fans definitely will keep an eye on Da Bears in ’07.
The Chicago Bears have been playing in the NFL since 1922. They have an astounding 13 former players that are now members of the Bears Hall of Fame. The Bears have also won nine league titles since their franchise started in the early 1920s. The Bears have also won 15 division titles over that span and have made 23 playoff appearances.
Mike Ditka, a former Bear himself, became the head coach in the 1980s and led the team to six division titles and a wild card berth in his 11 years with the team. Nothing quite compared to the team he put together in 1985. That team is thought to be the greatest defensive team that the league has seen. The D was led by Hall of Fame linebacker Mike Singletary. One the offensive side of the ball they had Walter Payton running them into the Super Bowl. The most interesting character on the team might have been quarterback Jim McMahon. He wore sunglasses all the time and a headband under his helmet. Either way they won the Super Bowl that year and we all got to enjoy the sweet music that was "The Super Bowl Shuffle."
